Viral marketing at its best......
Drop a tag line on a user forum, provide as little information as possible, and stand back to determine how much people are willing to pay for something and what type......adjust pricing accordingly.....

Kudos to Marstar for knowing how to play the game......
You couldn't buy the marketing hype this one thread has created.....

No s**t. That has occurred to me. While I am at it, some dealers post used guns with no price. I suppose they count the emails and then go hog wild. :jerkit:

However, I am sure Marstar will provide the good prices we have come to expect. I might be a bit jaded, but they haven't let us down yet. Create cryptic threads that answer few questions? Yes. Fail us in the end? Not likely.

How about this read on the situation....

We want more of what he's selling.

He has plans, but has been burned by circumstances in the past, so he's giving us the broad strokes - not the specifics that are likely to change due to circumstances beyond his control.

But then again, if you're happier being all pissy, knock yourself out. It's kind of amusing to the rest of us.

And don't forget to buy all the surplus ammo around!!!! That and rice with beans so you can make it through the week to enjoy the cases of ammo you never open. We will never again see it at this price and what will you do without the 23 million cases floating around Canada right now?

Gotta love internet forums...

Nice theory except I think John has been around forums long enough to know the difference between people posting grandiose plans and people actually going through with them. If he made business decisions that stupidly he would have been out of business long ago... this is not to mention his track record to date, which would be a much better indicator of what to expect. Of course the bottom line is he'll sell them for a whatever he wants, presumably at what he feels is the optimum point in the supply demand curve. He has no obligation to sell anything for the price the buyer wants to pay.... of course if the Americans take us over in the mean time and Obama gets involved my statement no longer applies :runaway:

Obviously many of us want one of these guns, we should be happy johnone is bringing them in, not pissing on him for all his effort.

I'd place a bet that Mastar already had a fixed price, already has a window they are expecting their product (unless governmental delays come into the picture) before this post even was made.

John does not seem like the type that he'd do this on purpose to maximize profits, it would be opposite of everything he has ever done so far from what I have seen.

Wow, give a guy a compliment and your being all p;ssy. What do you call a person who is insulting him?

John has been around the block a couple of times. I've even bought several rifles from him (Love my 305).

He knows exactly what he's doing.

I bought the 2007 norks from John and found it to be a quality gun. When the time comes and he has new offerings of european made m14s's I will join the line. Until then I will wait to see what happens.

No doubt John is a helluva guy who knows and does a LOT more than I do but still believe that online forums can be very lucrative. At least he is always working to bring in new stuff that keeps us all happy and full of surplus.

Of course he wants to maximize profit. What kind of a business man would he be otherwise. He wants to sell as many guns as he can at the right price. Volume wins in the end. Maximizing profit does not necessarily go hand in hand with high price. I'm with lmar on this one. John has done his pre-marketing, got the buzz out, and has a feel for what the market will bear. Once again, John has a winning formula.

Now, are they here yet? :)

If he wanted to maximize profit he could have added 100-200$ on the price tag of the M14S's he brought in and people would have still bought them all up.

Well in the end neither one of us know exactly, but my bet is John is smart enough to set his price to move the maximum in the fastest time possible, lowering his inventory, and carrying costs etc.

Maybe you should run his finances?

Hear that John? You f'ed up and gave away shiite loads of profit. You should have listened to the prophet to maximise your profit, he would have set you straight.

I'm on the fence . I have a Springfield and a Norc that don't get fed at $500.00 per case . These are blasting guns , not family hierlooms , same as an SKS and i'm not too interested in shooting the price of the gun over a weekend unless it's a 200 dollar gun and 200 dollar ammo . That's just me .

:confused:Have there been any pictures yet?

Does it still look good for getting them in before the end of the new year?

My offer is still open, you keep the unlimitted ammo and cleaning crew, but now you only send me $100 and the rifle and we call it even.:D

Oh, I'll still cover the shipping.:D
