First of all you are paranoid. The personal info you have to enter is limited, and the guy who started it up is from around the GTA, and has visited clubs to promote his site. Seems like a good guy, and with dealers supporting him, who are on this site I am sure everything is legit. Secondly I am not crying but if you know you are in a draw why would the op want to tell others to enter. That is just retarded, unless he is affiliated with the site and promoting it.

Some people are just nice, possibily this individual wanted everyone to have chance at winning a firearm. I know that I appreciated this thread.

Yeah, I'm just being paranoid. Identity theft isn't a big problem right now, and a brand new site that leaves the inclusion of my PAL number as optional is probably stellar with it's security. Plus, I know that nobody in the GTA would ever consider doing anything dishonest.

Odd how this site doesn't require any personal information to buy or sell. The only time it ever did was for a contest initiated by Greentips that utilized the sponsor dealers. Given his reputation, Greentips has earned my trust.

It would seem to be quite apparent that the OP is affiliated with the site, and the purpose of the draw is stated to gain new members. Nothing wrong with that, I'm just not biting right now. Do you stand beside lottery booths after you have bought your tickets, glowering at other customers, and cursing them for lowering your odds of winning?

Good luck to all who entered.

i won an auction for a 5 dollar book off the gunaddicts site. gave the guy my shipping address and told him to email me whenever he got a price on shipping. He messaged me back once to say it was a lil too big to be considered a regular piece of mail. he said he would repackage it to see if it would fit through the post office's gauge. that was 3 weeks ago, never heard back from the guy. oh well.

He is promoting the gunaddicts site.
What a lame site. There is no listing for what is on the site. You have to do searches.
Lame.
So if someone lists it wrong...you will not find it..
You need to do a blank search to find EVERYTHING, in the category.
It is stupid. I told em on their forums. No idea how they could over look it.

I'm not joining them and giving out personal info when I don't know who the f**k they are.

Have to register and tell them all your personal info.......I'll pass :jerkit:

If you are really concerned about your personal information the fact is that there is more risk to your personal information here in the forums, than a privately run and put together website...

O'rly?

I never had to disclose any personal information to join here, or include my PAL. For your information, this is a "privately run and put together website."

It easily beats anything else in Canada, and I prefer it to anything I've seen in the States too.

For someone who was initially only posting about the contest ending, you sure seem awfully defensive of that site.

Who are you? The founder?

Pretty lame when you have to post covertly on other sites to promote your own.:jerkit:

I just don't appreciate sarcasm when trying to do something good.

Oh, you poor baby! Do you even know what sarcasm is?

You have 12 posts here, and half of them are promoting or defending another site and its ridiculous sign-up rules.

If you noticed, I initially defended your statement while displaying a reluctance to participate. Why you decided to make an issue out of it is beyond me. It would seem to suggest you are more than just somebody who joined there in order to win a rifle.

Really, tell me you have no stake in that site, and you just felt like advertising its contest because you are such a nice guy.

If you noticed, now I am being sarcastic.

They haven't contacted me, did I win yet? I haven't been there since I entered. If I win, there will be a very affordable 858 on the EE. I'm the only shooter in the family (well, my Dad, but he just likes rimfire), and can only fire one at a time. It'll be my wife's new gun fund :D

Yep. Good to go. Sounds good too me. I'm in. I included my credit card info too. Just cause. :runaway:

Thanks for initially defending my statement.

But why not promote another site or person who's put effort promoting our sport, and especially one that's giving away some free stuff? The guy is in my home town (read about him in paper) and I saw his poster at a club so damn straight I'm going to help him out if I can. There should be more people like this, not less and you should support them.

As for privacy, etc.. I hate the registry but if you're realistic it's too late. Even if it disappears you can be damn sure someone will decide to keep a copy "just incase" the uneventful takes place. Far too many people are misinformed and speak about "privacy" which is an absolute joke. Tell me you've never exchanged your PAL or personal info for example through private messages in a forum or email?

And top security doesn't matter because 3-4 weeks ago some guy here posted personal info about a seller cuz he was pissed about it. How many people here do you think have two or even three accounts to keep their trading separate from their regular posts? Nothing is safe dude and anyone could get your info if they really wanted it.
