I took my #4 mk2 Enfield Sniper clone up to the range today for the first time. I collect ammunition and brass so I am always on the look out for something I don't have. I found something a bit odd that I have not seen before. I think it's military and has F A 43 on the base. It's about 9 mm and 2 1/2" overall length. Look's like it would be a Pretty Healthy round. Any one know what this is ???

Frankford Arsenal was in Pennsylvania. Is it a .30-06? Or was a FA case used to form something?

I am thinking it to be 9.3 x 64 Brenneke. It is over 2 1/2" long. The 30/06 is slightly tapered where as the mystery case has a straight case with a very short/sharp shoulder and a neck over 1/2" long. The base looks the same as the 30/06. Maybe someone has made a 9.3 x 64 Brenneke out of the 30/06. There was another case that was split in half and the primer was really backed out on the case that I have. Interesting !!! Good addition to my collection.

Diopter, The shoulder on my mystery round is sharper than the one in the picture. I think this must be a Wildcat I was looking at my ammo collection and I found something close and it's a bit of a mystery too. On the base is stamped Kynoch 9 mm M but the brass is only 2 1/4"
