Yes... More of teh awesome from my shop :D

My brother always makes fun of me for keeping all sorts of random, "useless" crap.... well I'm very excited because today I made use of some of my useless crap :D

I dunno if it's because I cleaned my shop so now I use it more or what.

So I was going to do some reloading tonight because I was super bored. As I was cleaning my once fired with a piece of steel wool I though to myself "#### this" and went to the garage with my bottle of cleaning medium in hand.

This was my first attempt:

FAIL! The rheostat was not thrilled about providing enough power to keep it spinning and then not spinning so fast as to let centrifugal force take over (Thus ending the tumbling).

WIN! I found this wiper motor in my junk bucket and I have NO IDEA where it came from! But I'm happy I kept it :D

It was spinning too fast on 12V so I dropped it down to 6V and it was PERFECT!!!!

So if you have an old wiper motor, an old bucket and a 6V power supply kicking around (which I did lol) you have your self a super cheap brass tumbler ;)

Sure is and sure does :D. I already cleaned about 50 pieces of brass with it ;)

Just wish I could put my innovative brain to work in a way that would make me money :(

You could raid the junkyard of all of there wiper motors, use some more laundry detergent, and build cheap tumblers for people.... but im not sure what kind of warranty you could offer with that setup..

Something tells me that, that isn't a profitable enterprise...

If you go to the thrift store and find a transformer/adapter in 6v,
it will save you wear and tear on your battery charger.
And to think that I spent $60 on a Lyman vibratory and figured it was a good deal.
Well done! KD

Hopefully the vise does not lose grip from the vibration and drop all that crap on your shop floor.
There's no vibration.
he might have the stuff from the frist pic in there .....maybe not tho:rolleyes:
That would be a good guess.

I agree. I went through all my stuff and couldn't find a 6V adapter. I have a 4.5V, 9V and 12V.
Ghetto Brass Tumbler..... I love it. :D
Thanks :D
Red would have incorporated Duct tape.:)
I could stick some on the bucket if it would make you feel better....:p

one day when the dead rise and we need to fight, i know where to look for help to clean my spent brass

seriously that's nice engineering!

I think the wiper motor requires more amps than a regular walwart is able to provide.

thats nothing... I once saw a guy hook up a barrel to an old chainsaw engine.. sheesh, the brass was clean in one "wrraaaaaaaaaaa" of the engine.
