Please Help I've Crippled My CZ 858 (Funny Story)

Are you just pouring hot tap water down the barrell? What other parts should you get with the water before you start cleaning the 858 ??

i disassemble the rifle while the water is being heated in a electric kettle , loose parts goes in a tray* sitting at the botton of the laundry tub , brush the bore a couple of times to loosen the crud and hang it upside down over the tray so when i pour the 1L hot water it also fills the tray , did two jobs with 1 pour. :D

quickly dry the parts and dry patch the bore. takes no more than several minutes.

* except top HG due to damage to the wood. i use a metal roller paint tray , the angle helps drain the water to the bottom .

Update......

I have now recieved a couple Pm's from a few members on the site and They have offered to send me a replacement spring. I guess this is exactly what I was hoping for, and I have to thank anyone involved. This just goes to show what a great community we have going here, and what an asset this site is to all Canadian firearm owners. I am glad everyone got a good laugh out of it, although last night I was not laughing, but I am glad that everything worked out. Thanks Again Guys.

So let me get this straight

You guys use boiling water and Windex to clean your CZ after using corrosive ammo. Is this what I have been doing wrong all this time? I have just been using powder solvent and brush and patches and it takes forever to get it clean.

Assuming you're not pulling anyone's chain here. ;)
Yes, boiling water straight from the kettle. It is the best way.

The windex, or ammonia, is optional but the boiling water should be used every time you shoot corrosive.

Personally I go with hot water and brushing alternated a few times, then I solvent the bore (comes clean in 3-4 patches) and then oil. Easy as pie.:)

Same here, although I use foaming solvent, I think its water based. But anyway, some people put way too much effort cleaning these guns. I have yet to see any rust in my barrel.

Climate has something to do with it too. If you live in a dry climate with a low humidity, their will be less moisture in the air to rust the metal, if you live in a really humid area, you will see rust form in a few hours. I live in a very dry climate, so rust is not something I encounter very often, but I did go up north for a bit where it had been raining everyday and I saw rust form pretty fast.

>dry climate
>canada

i supposed out west is dryer, but i don't think it would be enough to inhibit rust any better

you probley wont believe me, but i flushed the whole gun while enjoying it and having a #2 same time. :(

send me a replacement you generous generous mod:D :nest:

oh i believe , the only way you gonna lose a whole gun is when you drop it the out house. :D

Electric Tea Kettle... boiling hot water poured over the rifle in the tub (with screen over drain).

Doing this all over a toilet sounds messy and cumbersome.
