Has anyone else tried or read about possibly modifying old pmags to fit the dust cover on the bottom?

In this photo, the old style pmag is on the left, new is on the right. It looks like enough material could possibly be removed to allow attachment...

Could be an interesting experiment. I may pickup an old style pmag off the EE just to experiment with.

I've already tried the "File down and fill" method for cleaning up Rivets to avoid hangups in pinned mags using some epoxy filler from Canadian Tire. I think I could work the material to produce some decent results. the only thing I can't tell in this pic is the actual depth and dimension of the poly material at this point in the old Pmag to confirm my idea.

Ya know what I want? A fuggin mag that isn't pinned to 5 or 10 rounds.

I dunno why I want one, when I shoot I always load five anyways...are there any legal loopholes around this?

Legal 10 round rifle mag.

Yeah there is a loophole, just one.
My Robinson XCR came with an unpinned 10 round mag.
Why, because this particular mag is made for a pistol and is exempt from the 5 round limit, even when it's in a rifle.

I believe they're intended to keep the pressure off the feedlips for those who store fully loaded magazines with 30 rounds. Not something that we ever do here in Canada...
