Tikka Vs Browning

Buy a Browning forsure.... seems like alot of people on here like the Plastic Tikka's I know they shoot well but I think the fit and finish of a browning rifle is far better than that of a plastic tikka. Oh PS drop the BOSS system its just get the Browning with out the BOSS

If you can find a tikka m695 in 300 win mag that would be a real rifle sorry never seen it in ss though. I have had a m595 in 308 shoots the lites outtttt. No experience in t3 but they look good

We've got pretty much all brownings, so keep that in mind. I remember when the tika's/sako's first showed up in the gun stores here, they looked nice, but I didn't think the construction justified the price. Admittidly I haven't looked at one since.
By the number of guys that swear by them I have to assume they are a good rifle.
If I was to be looking for a rifle other than a browning, the first brand I'd look at is ruger, but obviously I'm biased.

One thing I can say is the only rifle I have regretted selling since the day I sold it was a browning abolt in 300winmag with a 4-12 redfield scope, and that was sold about 20yrs ago out of necessity, not desire. For practice I'd shoot 180gr's across the coulee at head size rocks; no exaggeration.

Browning for looks but a Tikka if you want to shoot accurately guaranteed out of the box with no modifications.
I have owned both my A-Bolt would shoot ok for one or two shots, then the group would grow and grow. My father has two Brownings and they shoot OK, I have two Tikkas, a 22-250 that easily shoots 3/8" groups and a 7mm-08 that is shooting just under an inch but I am certain with some handloads I can do better.

My last Browning would shoot about an inch after spending sometime floating the BBL.

Don't let the plastic fool you, the force required to break the synthetic magazine would completely flatten a sheet metal magazine and mine do not get babied whatsoever, toss em in the truck between the seats and head on out, a few minor scratches and that's all. The plastic is far tougher than wood as well.

google " a critical look at the modern hunting rifle" before you make up your mind. I know the tikkas are popular rifles, but many say they are popular with the inexperienced rifle buyer!

"The T3's success is a tribute to the ignorance of the modern American sportsman--and the connivance of the sporting press upon which they rely for information." a quote from Chuck Hawks in his article i quoted above. I dont stand behind everything he says, but it made it easier for me to stay with my browning rifles.
