I would imagine Questar would like to sell as many and as quickly as possible. Limited to just newsletter subscription does not make sense. Also, there is no marking on the newsletter to indicate that it is private or confidential.
Plus not everyone can afford a $4K rifle plus accessories and tax.
You could outfit a section of men with the price tag on that rifle.
With what, SKSs?
I never understood why people cared so much about price. If you don't have the money, and don't want it, don't buy it. If you have the money and want it, buy it. If you don't have the money and want it, save for it.

#### that ####, I can't save up for that is to much cash for me to save.I will spending what I saved oh so fast...If you don't have the money and want it, save for it.
Then stop being a #####in' Betty and buy cheap stuff.f**k that s**t, I can't save up for that is to much cash for me to save.I will spending what I saved oh so fast...

I care about price because I didn't win the 6/49 last week, and I'm not going to depend on it to save my a55 in a combat situation, so I'm not having an organisation pay the price for me. Is the SCAR cool? Holy Hannah, yes. Is it cool enough to merit the price? In my opinion, no. Right now, it's just gadget value, especially when there are several really nice guns out there that fire the same round and do it well.
Let me say, though, that I'm a notorious *non* early adopter. With all things, I like to let other people pay to be the Guinea pigs and let [insert product name here] mature before I bite. If, in a few years, these guns aren't so rare and I can try one out before buying, then I'll definitely do like you suggest and save up. But is it going to be enough of a better weapon than an AR by Rock River or Stag (et al) to justify the difference in price? I guess only time will tell...
I do agree with what you are saying, but you are not the person I am aiming my statement at. I am aiming that at people who think anyone who buys that is stupid, and wastefull. There is nothing wrong with waiting for the price to go down, and let other people to the development work.
edit:
I should also mention, that for me, the 5.56mm variant is pointless. I am just not interested in that cartridge, and will be very interested to see when/if the Mk17 is available.
Fair enough. I have to admit that a different cartridge would probably be more interesting.
Now, don't you think that, once we've all bought these things, we'll kind of *want* the zombies to attack?
