My sources in Europe are telling me they are about to release the MR308 in mid November. They german dealers are currently taking pre-orders. Hopefully we will get them in Canada shortly after that. :) :dancingbanana:

I can't wait to pay twice the full price for an AR10 becuase it's an HK.

Hopefully we see these soon!
Well, you do also pay five to seven times the amount for the AR, than you do the M14. You can just keep going down that chain, when you realize there is always something more cheaper than...

This board seems to be filling up with nay sayers lately.

Not sure why. If you don't have the ability, or aptitude to go gucci, buy what you can and come out and play, but don't be cranky that others enjoy top shelf.

I for one would love to see a line full of 10K rifles(while I shoot my much less expensive toys). These are probably people that are willing to work to keep our hobby alive.

New Rolls Royce Phantom is coming out... everyone rejoice!

Sorry! I would post Norinco news but I dont know anyone in china. Would that be more exciting? :)

In regards to the price, its 200 euros more then the MR223 so about $300 more here is expected, so about $4500. Its not cheap and HK will always carry a premium but compare it to what a quality AR-10 like the SR-25 goes for now days or even what Mark (Questar) used to charge for the DPMS SASS and it starts looking better. I personally would not spend over $4200 for an MR223 but the MR308 is a different story.

PS: And dont forget the HK is a piston gun.

Yes, I agree. Welcome to the board. Good to hear about the MR308s.

And I also agree about the naysayers. I often find that the people who put down the ones who have worked hard, earned a good living, and enjoy the fruits of their labour by buying the best when they can, are people that have gone no where and blame everyone for their choice.

I can afford the great stuff and when I go to the range I always offer others the chance to take a few shots because I like to share my good fortune and I like it when I see the grin on their faces after shooting something they may never be able to afford. It feels good to share.

My sources tell me you can order the .308 already...(for some time)
And it is only $100 Euros more than a .223., about $160 CDN.

The fact that the pricing is so close....I would be interesting to see if they end up the same price here.

The piston thing would be nice for a .308.
Then of course it's an HK. :)

Yes, the best..

Comparing an armalite, stag or RRA to an HK of the same type of rifle, you'll find that the only difference is the price, and a couple of markings.
I will not agree that they are the best, but more like the same as the guns that are made by different reputable manufacturers.

Wrong! Absolutely wrong, price and markings are not the only difference.

while I do not own a HK, I have handled one and I can say with great confidence that they are NOT the same. The HK may be double the price, when it comes to the MR223 to a RRA or Armalite M15, but it is far superior in fit and finish and its piston system is very well engineered, take a look at all the parts and how well they are manufactured. It is a feature rich AR, hence the price tag.

I own several Knights SR15s ($4k+ guns) and IMHO, they (MR223) are in the same calibre. I cant say they are the best as I think thats a personal choice, but they are not in the same league as standard milspec ARs.

Well, it took everything I could muster, beg, borrow and earn just to be able to buy my Remington R-25 and I love it. Don't really care about what others think about it. I know it is not an HK. But the R-25 is mine, there are several others just like her, but this one is mine. Anyone that wants to try her at the range is more than welcome, and when things get better I plan to take a trip hunting with her where people actually still have rights. If I could have an HK, I would love that one too but not as much probably because I have to sacrifice a lot to get the gun I have now.
