I grabbed a rod and shotgun and went to one of my favorite holes. Lots and lots of geese in the air and on the water but most were well out of range with a few that almost came in close enough. No birds and no bites but still a Hell of a way to kill an Afternoon. I had the rod holder right in front of the truck and my shotgun with 2 in the mag a little ways away ready for a quick grab on the way to the high weeds. So much fun, I think I'll do it again tommorow. :)

Pharaoh, grab a chair and head about 150-200 yards east and there is a nice small bay just before the corner. Should provide a few more opportunities then sitting by your truck. Those ducks and geese get shot at quite a bit (ask me how I know), and will usually lift up or avoid your vehicle all together.

Fishing should be better away from that spot as well, it gets pounded all year.
 
Yeah I wandered by there today when I had to go for a pee. To be honest I'm not trying too hard. I'm more or less enjoying sitting there listening to the radio and relaxing. That's the point to my week off, just relaxing. I figure what better way to do it the watching a rod with a shotgun close by and good tunes on the radio. Just got in from the same thing, and I feel great. :)
