some idiot at WSS is telling people....

The Remmy R15s and R25s are unrestricted and ya can hunts with em...Go shoot that coydog

or.....are they 'street legal' huntin irons?

Wss

There's quite a few idiots at WSS, and a couple of really good guys that have to work with them. I've left in frustration a couple of times, baffled by idiocy.
All AR variants are restricted, my 8 year old son knows that. I simply don't go there anymore.

Hot Damn I'm going deer hunting with my R-25!!!! The only problem is my LR 30-06 m24 semi clone weighs less than my obviously restricted R-25. that being said, if our overlords ever decided to quit ####ing us over in the name of so called public safety, then you can bet I'd have at least one AR hunting platform.

WSS hires only the most knowledge staff to sell firearms. I am sure any questions you have they can answer accurately. If one of these experts told you the R25 is non-restricted I wouldn't give it another thought, its a great deer gun. Happy hunting!

When the Remmy models first appeared in the cataloge, it was also listed as coming with 10 round mags, and without any suggestion it was restricted.

I HAVE hunted big game with an AR 10 ...
but that was about 25 years ago,
back when it was still legal to do this type of thing.

The source of this urban myth was probably still in diapers then?

PS: my nephew works for WSS ...
he wanted to be the fishing tackle guy, but because he has an RPAL,
they put him behind the gun counter.

Nephew is young, but he has an AR,
and he definitely knows what's shakin' with these,
so it wasn't him what told this tale.

Not just WSS. I was in TSE a few months back, and got talking to one of the employees. I mentioned that I had dropped my ruger 10-22 into a nordic components chasis. He was quick to inform me that I shouldn't say that to loud because they made the 10-22 a restricted weapon. "If it looks like an AR or can use the AR components it falls into the restricted category."

That's something I would never expect to hear from TSE. the people who work there are usually pretty knowledgeable.

Was it a larger fellow, mid to late 20's?

well, we should be able to hunt with our R-25's and R-15's. Perhaps when the long gun registry is thrown out :)D:jerkit::D:jerkit::D:jerkit::D:jerkit::D), perhaps we can then go after de-restricting the AR's and having normal AR magazines again. :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana:

I hate when people do that.

At one gun shop i had the gun telling me that Bull-pups are prohib. I aruged with him. then i got the great idea of askign what his definition of bull-pup is. he said its and gun that can fire with the stock removed. i made a mental note that this gun is an idiot, and walked away.

Now anyone that owns almost anygun should know that the gun with still fire witht e stock removed. it just hurts alot more to handle the recoil.

people that dotn know what they are talking about should just shut the hell up

I realize that there is always one bad apple - Ive not found one yet here in Winnipeg - the guys at the gun counter have been top notch with every visit - Ive even been told "I dont know" or, "I dont know but I can get you the answer"

WSS is really growing in popularity here in Winnipeg thanks to the guys over at Cabellas ...I was over at cabellas and when I asked what they had in stainless 7mm-08 I was abruptly asked "what do you need that for??" ...
