Coyote Guns - What's in your pocket?

Had pretty good luck with my sps 308. Once in awhile i use a LTR 223. And it's to bad we're not aloud to use them, because the r-15 works the best..... so i hear.

I have a CZ ZKW 465 in 22 K-Hornet, A Remington 700 Classic in 222 Remington and a Ruger Tang Safety 77V in 220 Swift. If I need more reach, then my custom HB in 6mm Remington with 70 grain Ballistic Tips gets the nod. Coyotes inside of 650 are in real danger. Eagleye.

Savage 99A in .250-3000, Winchester Western 87 grainers.
Winchester model 70 sporter in .223 AI.
Winchester model 53 in .25-20.

Nothing serious, just all fun rifles to carry and shoot.

CZ527 Kevlar stock with the SS trigger, .223 shooting James Calhoon 52gr DBHP. Burris Signature Series with posilock and Mildot reticle. Just set it up a few days ago and broke it in on the first mutt today. Money well spent---just wish the mutts were gonna be worth something.

what are your powders u are usinfg 4 your hornet? ARe you using small rifle or small pistol primers? I use 40gr speers, and 40gr v max and put 5 shots at 150 yards at less than 1/4 inch groups.

Hornets - Personally I am using Lil Gun and IMR 4227. Federal Small Pistol Match Primers and 40 Gr Sierra HP, 40 Gr Sierra SP Hornets, and 45 Gr Sierra Sp Hornets.

I'm looking at purchasing a Ruger Mini-14 .223 for shooting coyotes. What are your peoples' opinions on this rifle? Yeh, or Neh?

I have a couple specific for coyotes being my Grampa's beat up Savage 222 throwing the boring little 55gr psp bulk bullets into really good groups.

Also have a 1928 Savage 40 in 250 I hope to use this weekend if the deer don't step out.
A 1930ish Savage 23C 32WCF with the aperture sight for entertainment value as well as an 1869 41 Swiss.

Have used 243,30-06,25-06,7x57,308,270,6mm......ummmm my Great Grampa's 22 TBolt, ah...... 338-06, 375H&H. I guess whatever I have handy!

Had four yotes go by me within an hour last Sunday even while waiting for the elk to step out. Hopefully a couple of these will get some use this year, but its hard being stuck in suburbia........

Not so much.

I would say 'nay' based on many reports citing poor accuracy. Of course you could customize it I am sure but that would likely run the cost pretty high. I would stick to a good bolt sporter with descent glass in .204, .223, or .22-250.
