The 870 Express thread.

Here's my express. It started out with synthetic stock, 18" barrel and factory plus two extension. Since then it's been through many a different set ups. It is now close to being a complete project, I just need to decide on a finish.

- 870 Express magnum with vintage Wingmaster wood
- S&J no jam follower and jumbo safety
- MESA side saddle
- Norinco 14" barrel threaded for tru-chokes.

The internals are all express and it has never failed me

I used to own the 870 police tactical and LOVED IT!......sold it:( and now I am wanting a 870 express magnum but with researching it on the net about 50% (looked at/read literly 100's of reviews) of people say the 870 express' are all good EXCEPT the magum? Does this hold any water? Thanks

I think they mean the "super magnum" that takes 3 1/2" shells. But I doubt it really is an issue, just costs more and weighs more. 3" magnum is good enough imo.

Any gun will rust if you don't maintain it, stainless included.

Pharoah2, I agree...but it does seem like you have to be extra diligent with the express.

That being said, aside from a scratch or two, my express is essentially the same as the day it came out of the box--and I've put that thing through its paces. I oil it like crazy after every use--which is not something I do with some of my other firearms.
