I recently acquired a 21H and am having trouble releasing the mag floor plate. There is a small knurled button at the rear of the plate that doesn't seem to release anything. Any tips on how to activate the release would be appreciated. Thanks...Y

That knurled button will allow you to remove the floor plate. Use a lead point round nose bullet and push the button in. The floor plate should slide (backward toward the trigger guard I think) and release. The floor plate, magazine spring and follower should come out as one unit.

yippert: Those floor plates were very tightly fitted. With the release button pushed down it usually takes a lot of thumb pressure on the front edge of the floor plate to move them. Both of mine have had the fit eased with an extra fine diamond lap and I also shortened the spring under the button a bit. Works much better now and if you are careful there will be no sign of the work being done.

Got it...

Thanks guys. I got it loose, cleaned up and back together again. It really helps to know which way to push. The spring is really stiff and the fit tight so I'll empty the mag from the top on a daily basis. Take it apart only when doing a major cleaning. Thanks again...Y

These from Brownells work like a hot damn on my FN 98's. The button sticks out about 1/4" so a push with the thumb will release the floor-plate. A little fitting may be required.
