Any CZ owners here care to share their opinions of the polycoat finish that comes on the CZ 75/85/SP01 series pistols?

How thin is this coating?

How easy is it to chip or scratch? And if that does happen.... how easy is it to touch up, or are you just stuck with the ugly scratch/chip?

Also, can anyone tell me how the fiber optic front sight os attached? Is it screws on or dovetailed? If dovetailed what size dovetail is it?

Thanks

front sight

The front sight on a CZ is held in place by a roll pin. It can be drifted out from either side and your front sight then will slide out to the front.

Thanks.... so if one wanted to replace the front sight, how would you go about finding one that will fit? The reason I ask is because I hear the fiber optic sight on the Shadow is very fragile.

Ghost Products out of Phoenix carries various FO sights for the CZ along with competition rear sights.

You won't find a lot of variations. CZ's are very accurate out of the box. You won't be disappointed.

Yeah, the sigts are a bit fragile. Somehow I managed to break mine and replaced it with another. If it gets busted again I think I'm going to go with a non fiber option.

Mine is only a bit over a year old but this summer it saw a fair amount of holster time at various matches. Despite probably 200 holsterings it has not got one sign of so much as a dull spot from rubbing in the plastic holster. I'd have to say that it's probably at least as good as blueing and better than parkerizing.
