Hey guys,

After lurking around the forum for 5 long years, I finally got my licenses!:dancingbanana:

Application Received on: 2009/10/07
Current Status: Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canada Firearms Centre Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)

I have been wanting to get my licenses since I was 16 but finally put my thought into action this summer:nest:

Join Club/Range... buy Restricted, have fun, get addicted and lose all your money.
Or... Don't join club and buy Non-Restricteds, have fun, get addicted and lose all your money.

There's no better way that I would want to drive myself into the poor house. Hope you have a good, safe, blast.

Congrats man,

I did the same thing in the summer... Wanted the RPAL since 16 and got it at 40+. Like the others have said, make a shopping list and go to it.

I'm thinking about getting a .22 because I've never fired a real gun before. .22 is gonna be cheap since I don't have a lot of gold right now. I'm looking for a Norinco JW25 but can't find it anywhere.:kickInTheNuts:

Since I've never done any shooting before, I don't know if I'm going to be a shooting enthusiast. What draws me to firearm is the love of military weaponry. I was given a break-action airsoft rifle when I was 4 and since then, I fell in-love with traditional rifles. Throughout my childhood, I've constructed numerous paper rifles using newspaper and empty firework tubes. I'm not into hunting so sporting rifles don't really appeal to me.

My to-buy-list:

1. Norinco JW25 .22 copy of Mauser K98k
2. RC K98k
3. Norinco 556
4. Glock 17
5. Garrand

Congrats on getting your PAL and RPAL. I just took the non-restricted and restricted courses last weekend.

I was thinking of getting a .22 first too, but not sure which one. I've read a few times that the Savage MARK II-F is not bad. Have to admit that the JW25 you want to get sure looks nice.

An old Cooey 600 or 60 is the way to go in a cheap .22lr. I bought mine for 100 bucks and love it. Came with the side mount, and I added a cheap canadian tire rimfire scope. At 25 yards it shoots better than almost any .22 rifle I've shot and 1/4 the price even with some cheap ammo.

I painted the stock. Sorry for the sh..tty pic.
