I am looking for input on pros & cons between these two guns. I have shot the GP6 but not the eagle. Found GP felt odd in my hands, the trigger guard is huge. Any thoughts or experience's from others would be great.

Feel is a major consideration. I own and love my GP6, but you should try and get your hands around a few models before buying.

I picked up a Baby Eagle after selling my Grand Power K100 Mk6. Nothing wrong at all with the K100/GP6 just didn't want a poly-nine.

That being said, I love the weight and the feel of the Baby Eagle along with the trigger. However, the GP6 handles recoil like no other, very smooth and IMO the best fitting poly-nine.

Do I regret selling the K100? No but if I was to buy another poly-nine it would be a GP6 :)

I have a GP 6 and a SP-01 Shadow for competition.

I can't rock the GP as fast but it seems like it returns to point of aim quicker. I'm not that much slower but I do notice it. I honestly believe that switching to the GP this season cost me and dropped my percentage (then again, I had an all around crummy season).

It is a good gun and I do like it but I'm slightly better with my CZ (I believe it has to do with personal preference).

The former Ont Prod champ was playing with a Baby Eagle and ran it very smooth and fast.

A few years ago, I had an LDA and could not shoot it as fast as a DA/SA gun or striker fired gun. What I liked was that the gun was heavy, soaked up recoil and was very accurate however, trigger reset was way too long for me.

As was stated, how the gun feels in your hand is very important and can add to confidence which adds to overall performance.

Take a good look at the guns that the top ten guys are using worldwide and in US and Canada. They are all very similar. The GP isn't in there. Yet:)

No I didn't know that. I was hoping to maybe pick one up in 40. How long has it been discontinued for & what are the chance's of getting one? And yes Tritium I agree the reset on LDA is very long but the gun shoots very nicely.

Discontinued Jan 1. When Magnum Research took the Desert Eagles back to the USA, IMI gave MR the Finger. There might be the odd one in dealer's hands or used, but none have been imported to Canada in a year.

I have a baby eagle 9mm. I like the accuracy, reliability, and natural comfort you get while shooting it. I also like how it takes CZ mags. The gunsmith in town is playing with a CZ .22lr Kadet Kit right now and is going to call me to let me know if one will work on my gun or not. The trigger on that thing is awesome. I have absolutely no desire to purchase or own other handguns now, the baby eagle was like the "end all" of handguns for me. Call me a fanboy or whatever, but that thing goes to the grave with me. I just want to pick up an extra barrel because I shoot 500 rounds per month out of that thing, it's bound to wear out in a few years.

The BE was built by Tanfoglio for IMI/IWI. I have extra 9mm barrels, if you do want one.

I felt the grip of the baby eagle very similiar to the Stock2. ALthough I like the thumb safety position on the frame,....not the slide.

MUDFLAPPER, check out the CZ Shadow. The Baby Eagle was number 1 on my list before I got to shoot a Shadow then I was converted. They are close, VERY close in feel and recoil. I'm sure you'd transition from one to the other seamlessly. And when you factor in the support and parts availabiltiy I'm sure you won't mind wearing out your current barrel all that much.... :D

Actually a couple of the guys at our club have Shadows so I'm gonna try one on. They make a SPO1 tactical in 40 anyone try'ed one?

Those all Production guns, why do you need it in 40? Or you really want to have a DA gun for Standard?

Anyways, it been said that Browning platform, which CZ is based on is not that good for 40 caliber.

Have you tried 147gr bullets. Not the factory loads.
On a side note, you shouldn't really look for the hits, but watch the sights. It is much faster this way. :)

So do I. It is called "calling your shoots". You can actually practice it and precisely tell just from your sights where the shoot went. Yes, 147gr is much much softer. I switched from 124gr AIM bullets to 147gr AIM and staying in the same PF the difference is just unbelievable.
