Have just acquired one of these wee beasties (and it is smaller and cuter than I thought it would be):
How the heck do I strip the upper to get the bolt out? Does anyone have a manual they can scan or is there one on line?

I have done my homework on the magazines and have found the following:
- New mags impossible to find. Folks have even contacted the factory in Chile with no luck
- 2nd hand mags impossible to find
- It has been suggested that UZI mags will work. In reality it seems they require a lot of conversion (being metal they do not fill the mag well and tend to drop out) and even then are not 100% reliable.
- Has anyone tried any other readily available 9mm mags such as AR, B and T, pistol mags etc?
- Are scope rails available? If so where, how much etc?

Does anyone have a spare mag spring and base plate they would part with? I have a mag body and follower and would like to set myself up with a functioning spare. Willing to pay or trade!

Thanks for your input

I believe i have this in a PDF file but the unfortunate part is that my basement flooded and everything was packed away including my home computer. It is looking like Christmas before everything is back to normal. If you still don't have anything in the next little bit, let me know and I will make a note to myself to dig it up for you as soon as I am able.

Take the handguards off and there's a cross pin that holds the rod and spring the bolt rides on.

Scope rails are available from B&T through Wolverine Supplies.

Thanks to all for the field strip help. I have now figured it out with your help.

Now about those mags...........

Well there was a time (... hummm... as recently as this summer...) when Swiss Arms 30/5 round mags were virtually impossible to get, and if you could find any for sale they were going for about $120/each.

Then came CanAm into the market. Now I see adds for 30/5 round Swiss mags being BTT'd multiple times at $85/each.

Maybe something similar could happen for the poor orphaned South American cousin?

I suppose the major problem with anything like this is the small number of Famae SAF firearms and the virtual certainty of no more. Plus, I don't think they are really used much by LE/Gov (outside of South America). Tiny market.

I think I say this for all Famae owners. We are despiratly in need of parts! Not to mention they are an wicked shooting little subgun. If there were more being imported here I am sure they would sell well!

It's getting to the point you almost need to pick up one of these and turn it into a parts gun, just in case. Who am I kidding? I would have a brutal time willfully parting out a perfectly fine firearm.
