Why is there no love for a 30-06 ar?

1. An AR-10 action is long enough as-is.
2. It wouldn't accomplish any meaningful improvement over .308.

•Significant redesign for the longer case cartridge, means a whole R&D cycle that's quite costly.

•Very limited market

•No performence advantage over already existing AR10 and SR25 designs that have been thoroughly tested and proven.

So after going to my local shop they had a couple different ar's

one in .308 and the other in .223

What is the benefit of have either of these calibers? The .223 seems to be alot smaller.

Really? Different calibres for different roles. The 223 provides fast stable follow up shots and the ability to carry twice as many rounds for the same weight as .308(for the MIL types). The .308 is great for long range work and larger game(in a free country where you can use one to hunt).

you need to carry twice as much ammo because its no where near effective as the .308 you need the follow up shots just to get someones attention lol:D
an AR in 762X39 would be awesome though :dancingbanana:
