Interesting thoughts on RAMP

So would you be content if this was a lotto funded program? I'm sure there are a number of ways to fund what you call "a slick sytem" without hitting up the taxpayer.

Again if this is your primary concern it hardly dovetails with those who want the program scrapped.

Again with the words in my mouth Ike........

As I said, I'd be pleased with one answer right now. At least we'd have some info then to see if it is a palatable solution based on facts. I find arguing a point based on facts is usually best. I think arguing against RAMP based on facts dovetails nicely with those who truly want the program scrapped.

Sorry I was entertaining this idea that all our concerns can be reduced to 1 question so:

Would you be content if this was a lotto funded program?

I too would be pleased with one answer.

Then why did you ask three!

The current version of RAMP would not qualify for Alberta Lotteries funding so it's somewhat of a moot point now isn't it.

But to save CGN some bandwidth......my question is not being asked to garner contentment, it's being asked so I can get some info on a project that seems devoid of that. Ask one question at a time and get an answer one at a time. Ask three questions at a time and get no answers....I gotta think that asking one question at a time dovetails nicely with those looking to put an end to RAMP.

In don't know there sheep. You say Ted's good at sidestepping but from where I'm sitting, he can't hold a candle to you.

This is 3 questions?:

"So would you be content if this was a lotto funded program? "

Must be the new math I keep hearing about

Even if we ignore the fact that lotto funds have been re-directed in the past and that SRD itself has long embraced fundraising through raffle, why would you not answer a simple rhetorical question? It appears your only concern is finding an acceptable source of funding(just an observation based on your 1 question).

See you couldn't just stick to the one question again...you had to go on about a bunch of other things that I could easily deflect to.

But to put an end to this nonsense, the answer to one question is just the means to the info to ask another. Asking a bunch of questions at a time and throwing in a good conspiracy or two is the means to being made look like a fool.

Personal insults, using quotes out of context and attributing words and actions to a person that were never implied or acted upon just makes you look desperate.

Ike’s dead on what if the funding source becomes public i.e. lotto or whatever. What then? Your question is the no where leading question. The important questions may be a bit deep but try to see what is being said above by Norskie and Ike they are the truly important questions.

The real issue with money and this is not the only issue by any means, is do we want to spend tax payers money to allow hunters access to private land at the expense of other programs? Especially considering that hunters don't want this program.

To be perfectly honest the source of funding is of no consequence the fundamental theory is the problem. So maybe you might want to be careful what facts you dig up.

As for the man being brilliant are you on glue, greasy politics doesn’t make some one brilliant it makes you look like a horses’ ass.

I’ve point blank asked him many questions and he has not given me a sufficient answer to any of them, so now what?

Continue to take him to task and continue to ask questions. Can he juggle you bet he can, but I want to see how many balls he can handle because at some point he’ll lose them all and maybe then we’ll get this stopped.

I totally disagree, if that funding source is taking money from other critical programs it becomes a very valuable tool in the fight against RAMP. Joe Public doesn't understand or care to understand the nuances surrounding paid hunting or grazing AUMs but they sure do understand money being deflected from important areas to frivilous programs like helping hunters kill Bambi more easily. Hunters aren't going to beat RAMP on their own or we wouldn't have the pilot. Without the public behind us, you better get used to filling out the little cards no matter where you go in this province.

You've experienced your inability to ask one question at a time and his brilliance. Just because you don't agree with him doesn't make him stupid. I'd never underestimate his intelligence......it will likely wind up with you looking like a fool. He's a master at what he does.

I'm sure that will be quoted out of context one day too but so be it.

If you think Ike is desperate you don't know Ike.

Quotes out of context...... there's a lot of ways to interpret respones on a thread.

I'm sorry to say but this thread makes one person look like Morton's right hand man and there are just no clear answers coming from anywhere.

:weird:

Just the facts. Where do we gather with the torches and pitchforks and get this thing buried? Something the lowly working class can understand, not in political inuendo.

I never expected insults from you Noel........

You are right there are a lot of ways to interpret things said on the internet and there are a lot of ways to use them out of context. Some people are masters at the latter.

You are correct there are no clear answers and we need some. I'm not sure insulting those opposed to RAMP and accusing them of being Morton's right hand man is the way to acheive it but I guess jumping on a bandwagon is easy.

Frankly, I would think all discussion about RAMP is useful as it keeps it in the forefront but maybe not.

Don't take an observation as an insult, I am only observing. Hopefully it is seen only as that. I try to stay out of the insulting stuff, it doen't lend to anything encouraging which is what this kid is all about.:D

But still, where do we go with the torches and pitchforks to get some answers? Do we show up at Morton's for supper tonight..... after we are done hunting for the day that is.;)

You're killing me man.

You spend all this time and energy trying to convince anyone who will listen that we have to focus on 1 aspect and frame our concerns as 1 question, becuase this is the best strategy(apparantly you can think of) and yet through your own actions, you yourself show how absolutly usless this very same strategy is when the person being asked "The one question" refuses to answer.

So instead I will ask myself the "1 question".

"So (Ike) would you be content if this was a lotto funded program? "

No. How this program is funded is irrelevant. The program itself is a "Pandora's box" and needs to be completly scrapped.

The "1 question" only works if the person answering is prepared to defend his answer.

Something I doubt Ted and others are prepared to do.

Fair enough Noel...I've actually enjoyed meeting you and feel we share many of the same values. It's just when someone says you appear to be Ted's right-hand man...well you can see how that could be taken as an insult. No harm done.

(Ted)So what do you view as being in the Pandora's box Ike.

You got nothing and it likely took three months to get that nothing.

No doubt there is a Pandora's box and I'm not saying we should all only ask the same question but you've seen the results when you fire off multiple questions and you've seen the results when you open the door to debate. All I'm saying is that people need to realize that he's a brilliant politician and is a master at deflecting. Ask him whatever question you want the answer to but ask him a bunch and leave the door open for deflection and I'll guarantee you'll get no answers, just more rhetoric.

Ike, you seem to love to ask a question followed by an arguement. Usually a question like that results in an arguement. All I'm saying is follow my friend's advice and ask one question...whatever you want it to be but make sure it's a question that requires a simple answer. Enough people ask enough simple questions and suddenly you get some answers.

You obviously haven't actuall read/comprehended my numerous post on this matter

All I'm saying is that people need to realize that he's a brilliant politician and is a master at deflecting

Don't sell yourself short when you're handing out that award

Considering that you (Sheephunter) are not the only intrested party in this matter, you are going to have to accept that the many other people involved are going to ask their own questions. To try and control or direct them is pointless and counter preductive

All I'm saying is follow my friend's advice and ask one question...

Thats not all that you are saying. You also tell us what the question should be.

If you were asking: How do we kick Ted Morton out of office?

I would probably be more inclined to listen to you but becuase your question is too easily answered and does nothing to promote scrapping RAMP I will have to choose another approach.

Holy crap Ike...did you even read what I posted.......

You obviously haven't actuall read/comprehended my numerous post on this matter

The reason I put (Ted) in front of that question because that's what Ted would ask. I'm pretty certain Ted has not read all your posts on CGN.

Huh?

If you read what you quoted, you'll see I was encouraging people to ask their own questions.

Thats not all that you are saying. You also tell us what the question should be.

Huh? Once again, I was just suggesting a more productive way of getting answers. As I said several times in the previous post. Ask whatever question you want an answer to.

Wow...knock yourself out Ike........

The reason I put (Ted) in front of that question because that's what Ted would ask. I'm pretty certain Ted has not read all your posts on CGN.

My mistake. I didn't realise you asked questions on Ted's behalf

If you read what you quoted, you'll see I was encouraging people to ask their own questions.

Well, I'll have to say it's very gracious of you to encourage people to ask their own questions. Although you seem to take issue with most of those questions, as is evident by your numerous posts in this thread. (I won't bother to quote as this seems to frustrate you)

Huh? Once again, I was just suggesting a more productive way of getting answers. As I said several times in the previous post. Ask whatever question you want an answer to.

Wow...knock yourself out Ike........

I'm certainly not hypocritcal enough to tell other people what is productive without considering all that has transpired, that is counter-productive. I guess it safe to assume this isn't a concern of yours.
