Why is there no love for a 30-06 ar?

IMHO, owning both an AR and a Garand, there is no reason for an AR in 30-06. The Garand in miles ahead in terms of accuracy and above all RELIABILITY! I would bet my life on my Garand, not on my AR. The direct impingment gas design is a maintenance nightmare. The Garand is THE semi-auto 30-06 on ease of maintenance and reliability. Just my opinion and experience

Not sure what you mean, but 8 rounds in a rifle that'll shoot 1200 yds should solve whatever it is you're trying to solve. The Garand is very quick to reload once you get the hang of it

Garand is exempt because the rifle doesn't use an external magazine and the rifle can't be pinned to just five rounds.

...and because when that particular law was passed the average WW2 vet was closer to 60 than 80, he still shot and voted, and wouldn't let an issue die. Same reason they wrote down that the Lee magazine was exempt when it's a bolt action and was exempt anyway. No one wanted to face a block of seniors who had fought for freedom voting as a block.

Back on topic, if you can't hit it with 308 you won't hit it with 30-06, if you can hit it with 308, you won't need to hit it with 30-06.

Somewhat related, but why is their no semi 22-250's AR or otherwise?
Well, the caliber range for ARs is becoming quite diverse now. Perhaps some day that option will be available, assuming there is significant interest for it. That's really what it dums down to. If there isn't enough people interested in that particular option, there would be no real profitable benefit from putting research & development funds into creating it, you'll never see it (unless you get custom made from good gunsmith).

I'm the same here. If I could get an AR in 10x25mm Auto, that would be my prize piece. However it's highly unlikely. Not enough interest in that caliber. Plus the ammo is quite pricey, which adds to it's obscurity. Perhaps some day I'll get a custom 10mm AR made, although, I'm fine enough with the standard 5.56mm. Plenty of that ammo to go around, not to mention all the magazines you could ever want. Anything particular will always be sparse on accessory option side.

Remington 750 same platform as the R-25 and the R-15 but with rotary bolt lock up 4/5 shot mag. Im sure not available in Canada.
