I suspect it is a generic unload for a generic semiauto, rather than a SKS in particular.

are there semi's that you have to take the safety off to pull the bolt back?

None that I have do, now handguns are a different story ( eg. 1911 )

It's the way to go for AKs.

Same story on a browning HP.

I never use the mechanical manual though. Still follow ACTS and PROVE.
Maybe I should get a Glock...
