Manitoba precision rifles. Any Manitoba shooters of these rifles care to recommend who they are using for gunsmiths. thinking about getting into the F class game after shooting some high power rifle silhouette in the past.

Talk to the folks at the MPRA. I think Lyle Linkaitis does some of that work.

All of the precision guys I know work on guns from all over the country; the only limitation is most of them won't work on "junk" so if you're trying to upgrade a $300 rifle, or a milsurp, you may have to shop around a bit.

A Remington, Wichester or Tikka/Sako... no problem.

Ok, thanks for some names guys. I have a blue and trued Rem short action in .260 with a .292 neck right now. Mclennan (sp?) barrel attached, jewell trigger mm maybe 1.5 oz in a Silhouette style McMillan stock. 24x Leupold big dot scope in very high mounts. Probably should go for building a new rifle instead of trying to modify this one I reckon. Really like this rifle but it is a long way to the nearest Long Range silhouette range for me these days. Keep those names coming in if you think of any more. I also have a VSSF in .308 that shoots OK but i am not sure if i really like the Stainless action (cosmetically that is. Maybe sell it and start out fresh with a new Rem SPS or VTR or XCR or...... and then start the "farkling"
this is gonna be a good winter project. lol

I haven't used him yet, but Jerry Pohemichuk (sp?) out of Brandon builds precision rifles. I misplaced his card, but I think his business is called Hi-Pro Precision.

Here is Jerry's website. h ttp://hiproprecision.com/

It is still under construction but just send him an email. You can PM me if you want his cell number.

He has built me a 6mmBR and done work on others for me. His work is second to none. He is really good at what he does and really puts his all into it.

Redryder,

You don't need a gunsmith or a new gun. That .260 Rem you have sounds just about perfect for F-class.

The MPRA long range shooting is done for teh season but come spring you're good to go as is.
