If you buy the fusion krylon you dont have to prime. Just degrease the gun.

No issue with Krylon on barrel. I used CT primer.

I usually spray 3-4 very very light coats of primer, then 5-6 very very light coats of the base color. Let it cure 24h then apply your camo.

Best part about Krylon is that once you ding it up, you just give it another shot. I am constantly changing my paint scheme depending on where I'm shooting or hunting, or just for sh*ts and giggles.

And don't worry about it being anywhere that "gets hot".. it'll take it.

Personally I prefer to use a base of primer, then a couple coats of high-heat BBQ paint. After that Krylon.

Great job. So i take it your base coat of paint was the black? Can you walk me though what you used to make the pattern and the technique you used?

I can see that it's not so bad to paint the pattern when the rifle is on it's side, but what about when you want it to go around the barrell evenly.......did you tape all around the barrell one section at a time ?

This will be my first paint job so ya know i'm very green but i am willing to do it anyway's.:D

Well, it all depends of the kind of camo you want. For this one I went bubba-ugly :D
Base coat was OD then I just spray bands of black and tan.

For a matching camo left-right, I found easier to work from the top of the rifle so the 'camo-bands' join on the top.

Don't forget to plug the barrel and to tape the sights.
Degrease the rifle a couple times
Don't forget the mags

The CZ is a fun gun to paint: it's so ugly that any paint job will suit it :D

Primer is on.

It took a few hours to carefully mask and plug all the different journals and what not, but here's a few pics of the grey krylon primer that i added. The rifle was fully degreased.

Primer does the trick and smoothes everything out, after it sits for a day or half day..... sand it lightly with 200 grit sandpaper and wipe it off.....then get ready to add your base colour, in my case that's gonna be krylon flat black.

Hung is from a coat hangar... worked well.

last but not least, the rear cover, bolt carrier, and upper handguard.

I put 2 coats of krylon flat black on tonight, it looks awsome, will post pics tomorrow when it's fully assembled.

The only site i used to do this was CGN.

-degrease the rilfe
-mask and plug it
-2 coats of primer, krylon....then let it dry and sand lightly with 200 grit sandpaper.
-2 coats of flat black krylon

That's pretty much what i did, following directions on both the primer and paint cans. It was very easy and i'm very happy with the results so far. It's dry now, but still has the strong paint smell. I'm going to let all the parts sit for a few more days until i re-assemble everything.
