Does any one know if this is a exact copy of a colt m4 I cant find any specs online for it..

Aside from feedback on finish and performance that I can care less about. I just want to know if it has the same dimension specs ie hand guards, stock, bolt chargeing handle

Asking because I think it would be better to burn up a copy for plinking then my m4

The feed ramps are not true M4 spec, it has a M16 upper with M4 cut ramps.
Buffer tube is commercial.
Other than that, it is very close to any run of the mill off the shelf AR15.

The norinco made the distance between the barrel nut and the handgard cap longer than the spec. This means some of the more precise fitting RAS will not fit. For example, the Troy dropped-in handguard will not work with Norinco.

Is that the only one that wont fit?

I was going to try a midwest two piece for a front end

actually, I mean the distance is too "short"

The troy handguard cannot fit in because it cannot go into the front handguard cap far enough, for the groove at the rear end to engage into the "teeth" of the barrel nut. The Troy has a grove at the rear end, which is also timed to the teeth of the barrel nut, to ensure the rail is indexed correctlya and held in place.

Either the barrel nut is too long, the FSB is too close to the receiver, or the handgard cap is too shallow. My guess is that the barrel nut is too long.

The problem can fixed in this case - you have to grind down the handguard cap as well as the front end of the handguard.

I have a Norinco and the handguard on mine measures 6.5" and most handguard i've seen are 7"+.

Fabsport sells a 6.5" handguard but he out of stock on that one.

Wilson also makes a free float tube railed handguard but you need to remove everything off the barrel, flash hider, front sight housing, barrel nut to fit it. It replaces the barrel nut but I believe that the 556 has no metric threads on it.
You do not put the handguard retainer back on, just the front sight housing and the flash hider. P & D has some of these Wilson tubes, I quite like them!

I just picked up a set of railed handguards for my Norinco yesterday at Epps, they are a brand I've never heard of before TufForce, but was assured by Wes that they would fit my CQ. They measure a touch over 6.5 inches thus making a snug fit but they do fit, and at $64.99 plus tax you can't beat the price.

I've got a Midwest 2 piece free float on mine, fits just fine and is nice and solid. It works the same way as the Troy free float, you cut the delta ring assembly off with a dremel and bolt the rail on.
