Is a CZ sp01 shadow a good Handgun

Best all metal gun for about a thousand $ more or less.
Own 2 CZ SP01 tactical , 1 CZ 85 Combat & 1 CZ 75

You should reach it with your support hand as you position it.

The Shadow is great for what you can do with it in Canada: Target shoot (especially, competitively). It's heavy and I sure wouldn't want to duty-carry it or CCW with it.

Definitely get it.

Same issue with my baby mits. In fact I suppose my grip is rotated around a bit instead of properly at the back of the strap where it is supposed to be just so I can reach the trigger properly (and that's for a single action!). I may eventually try some slim grips, who knows.

As far as the slide lock, I do as above and just thumb it on the way to putting the week hand back on. Of course I even use my week hand to engage the safety on the incredibly rare occasion where I use it (shooting with the kids is about all I can think of).

So far only about a 800 rounds through it of 9mm and about 1500 through a Kadet kit (.22lr). I really like this Shadow!

Oh yeah. It looks just a bit strange at the business end, but works like a charm.

Great pistols as are ther other members of the CZ line. At 40.1 oz. gun works great for IPSC Production and well in IDPA SSP Division if you get the weight down to 39oz. The Tanfoglio line (CZ CLone) is worth looking at as well. I actually prefer the grip of the Tanfoglio over the CZ as it is cut deeper where the webbing of your strong hand meets the pistol. The Tanfoglio 9MM's work in IPSC Production and IDPA ESP. The Tans are overweight for SSP and I know of no way to reduce their weight down to 39 oz.

If you buy it new and CZ is building it the same as they did a year ago, you will need to do a little fitting to get the Kadet kit onto a shadow.

I was about to drag out my extension tubes for some nice close-ups, but your shots look great, Evan. This is exactly what I did. I used the file in my Gerber multi tool. Very, very, very slowly. I didn't think of the masking tape trick though. I left the fit really quite snug, but after a several slide changes it's simply perfect. Although it cost more than a low/mid buckmark, I'm very happy I got it as I enjoy shooting the shadow with 9mm or .22 now! I don't find my shooting rhythm affected by the 20-30 seconds it takes me to change the slide over.
