I was wondering about availability of a good strong mount for a Lee Enfield.
It is a 1918 manf., I think a number 3, not to sure about Enfield details. It has the mag charger guide and action outside is radiused not flat like a No.4. It has what looks like a Weaver TO base on top and standard .22 scope rings with 3/8 dovetail clamps. It's a poor set up as the scope moves ahead under recoil no matter how tight the rings are tightened to the base.
I would like a base and mounts with a recoil lug.
Anybody know where to get one in Canada?

Weaver T0-1 mount is prett much all thats out their, Parker Hale made some nice ones, but the company has since gone belly up. Simple solution is too put a screw in front of one of the rings to keep the recoil from moving it forward, smith that did mine did that and no problems so far.
If you know a machinist, or am one yourself, a more complicated fix yet still pretty simple project is too mill off the rails on the T0-1 mount and screw or solder a standard weaver base or whatever your favorite base is on to it. Probably would take less then an hour and would let you use standard rings. This is what I want to do with mine, people who said they did it says its way better.

Some of the guys were recently talking about machining the top of the T01 mount flat and then installing a flat Weaver base on to it. Apparently that works really well.

Not much out there for the LE No 1 Mk III rifle.

I've got 2 Parker Hale scope rails that I would sell. Your rifle needs to be drilled and tapped if it already has not been done. Pls PM.

I am interested in a rail, I'm assuming I need a set of PH rings.
PM me a price and address.
Tried to PM you but it says username not found, must be doing something wrong.
Thanks,
Mike

The TO-1 mount needs rings of the Weaver TO style, specifically with serrations or teeth ground in the clamp to bite into the base. I have tried other rings with this set-up only to have them fail, some miserably and at extra cost to replace scopes.

Lee Enfield bases.

I make a base similar to TO-1, but uses standard Weaver or Burris zee rings.
I mill it out of aluminum stock. $50.
If I use the TO-1 base, I use the Burris steel medium .22 rings. They are strongest and lowest.
