Russian sks HELP!

I see your In Kimberley BC, Mountain Man in Cranbrook MIGHT Have some SKS's in stock, they did a while ago. ABCO Pawn Brokers In Cranbrook MIGHT also have some, but I don't remember seeing any last time I was in. Both tend to price their stuff a little high, but Last SKS I saw at Mountain man was priced pretty decently, still higher but not too too bad. 15 min drive seems a little better then a 10 hour one lol.

BINGO...Maybe... I have been in there a few times and never seen any in there... but i called and they have some.... He told me they are used... so that could mean refurb.. I will have to have a look see...$249.

You Can't deny the $349 deal you get at lever though, That's a damn good deal, kinds makes me want to get another one, but the bank account is starving as is so I have to get the Idea out of my head lol.

I snagged one at Lever Arms a few weeks ago... I'm pretty picky and there was probably 1 in 5 that I would deem as 'passable' (i.e., no major stock flaws). After wiping off all the cosmoline, the stock showed additional flaws that I hadn't seen in the store, prompting me to re-condition the entire stock. The mechanical parts of the rifle were all in great shape.

In a perfect world.... I could slip someone $50 to pick out a rifle for me...:)
then call me so I could secure it.... ah only in dreams...lol

The lever deal is excellent. I picked up an SKS there a few months back for the $350 and it shoots very good. I would still consider myself a very amateur shooter, as I had 2-3" groups at 100 yards and not much look at 200, but a fellow ranger user with better aim was regularly hitting the 200 yard metal target, just iron sites.

With these guns though, if you are new to the SKS MAKE SURE you do a good job cleaning the gun right after every outing. My first time out, I thought I did a good job cleaning, and checked the bore a few days later and it was corrosion city! Now I'm paranoid and check it regularly the first couple days after a clean to ensure its all good. I find it helps to spray some gun oil in the action right after use to give you time to get home and start cleaning - the corrosion starts right away.

Great gun, cheap ammo, would highly recommend....tons of accessories too.

Are you flushing with HOT water? Flush all parts that come in contact with the gases, so the barrel, gas tube, and the bolt should all be rinsed with hot water.
