I agree with Noel, with a little searching you should find a nice one in the $400-$450 range. You might want to look at a 141, same action ,longer barrel and a better stock design. I've owned both and prefer the model 141.
I fumbled a 140ish class whitetail yesterday with mine. Had him dead to rights at 38yds and I'm still trying to figure out where I went wrong.

Noel, maybe you put it over the lungs and under the backbone?
I like 14's as well , I have a .30 and a .35. The .35 is a project. I have found the rifles way more common than the carbines and .30 and .32's the most common. I have never seen a .25 in almost 30 years of looking.
Who said I missed? I nailed him hard and he almost fell on the spot.
