There are usually a few older Remington pumps on the Elwood Epps site but the 35s get scooped fairly quick as do the Marlin levers in 35 Rem...

You are lucky man to be looking for a 35 as they seemed to be the 2nd most common one I found in four years of scouring for a 25.
They don't seem to demand too outrageous a price in 35. I think you coud find a dandy for $400.
Had I been packing mine yesterday I would have gotten a mid 130s class whitetail with it at only 20yds.
Post up a WTB here on the EE and I am sure one will pop up soon.

What a great little rifle the 14 was.
my uncle used model14 in 35 until he died in the mid 60's he was deadly with it deer to moose . my grandpa used till the remington 760 came out . I have a 30 remington but ,I'm lookin' for a 35. Out on the west coast there were lots of 25,30 32 rem's. I used 32 remington for cougar hunting for years ,cause I didn't like a lever action.
Gramma's older Brother used one in 25 as did a fellow up the road back in the homesteading days. There were three model 8s around too. Strange part is all five were chambered in 25 Rem. There were only Moose and Mule Deer in those days until `45 when the first whitetail was recorded being seen.
I found his note pad from 1932-33 where he logged in buying his "25 shells", a neat keepsake with the rest of the garb I found around the farm of his.

Best guess is this was taken in the 20's. tube has the brush guard but I can't recall what year that came in.

I agree with Noel, with a little searching you should find a nice one in the $400-$450 range. You might want to look at a 141, same action ,longer barrel and a better stock design. I've owned both and prefer the model 141.
My son had choice of about 74 nice hunting rifles on the rack to use for a deer hunt. He did not know much about the various calibers, but chose the Rem 14 because it fit him well, pointed smoothly and had a nice trigger.
I used it with pistol bullets to shoot rats at the dump. very fast rifle.

I also prefer the sights on the model 141.
You can't go to wrong with either though.

I've got a 14 1/2 in 44-40 that's all kinds of fun for plinkin...love that little pump!
The sights on the 14 are too low for my liking too, as neat as they are. 1/8th higher would make a big difference. You can see in the pic above with my Uncle he used a tang sight on his and the wheel sight is gone. No idea how he caould hunt with that thing in the dark timber, I sure can't do it.

Who said I missed? I nailed him hard and he almost fell on the spot. I expected he was doing the typical 50yd dash to pile up like all the other ones.
Scoured the brush for five hours straight and no deer. Bright red blood on the ground for the first 60yds but the elk have the moss and leaves disturbed everywhere making tracking harder than hunting.
Yesterday was not a good day.
Noel, maybe you put it over the lungs and under the backbone?
I like 14's as well , I have a .30 and a .35. The .35 is a project. I have found the rifles way more common than the carbines and .30 and .32's the most common. I have never seen a .25 in almost 30 years of looking.

Could be, I am really peeved at myself for it. Hardly the way it's first shot at game in over 50 years should have gone.
I might know where a 25 carbine is Buckbrush but I doubt it will come cheap.
This one here I found on buysell of all places. It had been in the family since new in 1913. A shame he sold it but he sure made my day. I got it for 400 and I've seen much rougher ones go for more in that caliber. Bore shines like new too.
On my wife's Dad's side of the fam is a 32 Rimless as her Uncle calls it. Complete with tang sight too. Story goes it was bought new by his Uncle and then given to him when the old boy quit hunting. Some clown told her Uncle it is worth 4K now and you know he believe's it. Haven't seen the rifle but I told him unless it is the peerless grade he's in for a big suprise.
I'll tell him I will give him double what he paid for it maybe....
Considering that was 50+ years ago that should be a good deal.........

No worries. By fumbled I could not find the little bugger. I'm still sick about it and feeling pretty much just like you think.

those 14's are in great shape, mine are both grey whales at this point. I could not get within 500 m of that buck with all those leaves on the ground and no snow. Did you guys HALO jump into those poplars?
