Hi i have around 1700$ to spend on a rifle already have a scope.
It will be for shooting from a bench

Would like something that shoot at 600m
this is not for competition .
Here a list of what i would like.
:223 cal
:heavy barrel
:1/7 or 1/8 twist to shoot 60 to 80 gr bullet
:around a 4 oz trigger
:20moa base
:eek:versize bolt
:magazine
:stock???

Is this possible or it would cost more.

Yep, entirely possible. Do you think you might EVER want to compete with it, in say... F-class? Do you reload you own ammo?

Just bear in mind that a stock shot prone has completely different ergonomics from one shot off a bench. Also, Neck Tension and Seating Depth for mag fed rounds are different than those for single shot feeding. The most accurate way to load both does not favour mag feeding. Mag feeding off a bench is generally not preferred, but nothing stopping you.

An outstanding platform would be the Remington VLS Thumbhole. It may shoot well enough to satisfy all your precision cravings and it may not. That goes for any factory gun. It has a superb bench style stock and works prone as well. Go to any F-CLass (particularly FTR that ONLY shoots 308 and 223) and you will find 90% of the actions used are Remington. They are sturdy, they are very safe and they are universal.

All the serious precision shooters with whom I compete, generally have proper custom barrels installed to ensure maximum accuracy. Having a rifle that is known to be dead-on accurate is essential for learning to be a better shooter.
 
I dont think i will do competition i dont reload but want to
start next fall.
Lets forget prone shooting and go for only bench shooting.

Obtunded you do competition could you give me lowes to medium
cost of a F-Class and Ftr-Class rifle dont want to be rude asking
money question you could send me a Private Messages if
you want if not its ok.

I am asking to know my choice if i would just go for a varmint rifle
and ask a gunsmith to do a little work on it and stick whit that or buy a cheap 700 rem and have
have a custom done.
