Who here has tried one of the EGW Gen II brakes on their AR (or any other firearm for that matter)?
How did it compare to other designs?

Thanks!

I can not answer the question about the EGW muzzle break, but I do have a compensated AR in Calgary if you want to do a comparison. I have an SJC comp on an AR and would be interested in an actual side by side comparison to other comps/muzzle breaks.

Let me know if you want to get together to compare.

That would be worthwhile, thanks for the offer - If you are available this weekend, there is a Service Rifle shoot out at Homestead. Sunday is the match, and I usually go out Saturday to warm up or zero the 'flavour of the month'.

The reason I ask is that I've just taken delivery of one, and it's blued as opposed to park'ed. Kinda looks like a$$...I'm contemplating having it parkerized, but don't want to invest into it if they are so-so...

If there is no input from here I'll just have to spin it on and try it out.

it works well on a longer gun 14.5 and up on short guns the muzzle flash/fire ball is huge!

and tends to drive the muzzle down on shorter guns,So it works but as Suputin said looks like a A2 FH with a washer on the end

Yeah, this one has four holes drilled on the bottom to compensate for the over-compensation of the first model.
I suppose I'll have to post a range report.

I can not make this weekend, and due to work committments weekends until around March or April are a problem. However lets try to get together sometime for a comparison.

Either a 14.5" or 16" carbine. What would you guys charge to parkerize this?

No worries Ralph - we'll see you in the spring;)
