guys,

I inherited a Lee Enfield rifle that has no bolt assembly, I have no idea how to identify these rifles to get parts. It was my late fathers rifle and I think it proper to restore it as best i can. the only disernable markings i could muster were "Lee Enfield 1918 III" ."303" calibre serial number 5540. I googled some Lee Enfield sites and it appears that you have to know something about Lee Enfield's to navigate the sites. it also could use a stock re-finish. Can someone help me get this rifle back to life?

Well it's a No1 MkIII*. You'll need a No1 bolt for it. Get the headspacing checked before shooting with the new bolt.

Pics would be a huge help so members can tell you what else you'll need and if it's fully restorable or not. :)

One of the best Enfield Info sites is

enfieldrifles.profusehost.net/main.htm

A Lot of info their, pictures, info on the various makes and models, info in markings, ect.
