I got a phone call from a friend, that a small buck was hiding in a small willow grove. My wife and I rushed over and set up and waited, while he walked through the bush. I was hoping that she could shoot her first deer. A small buck came running out heading west, about 250 yards away at a full trot, it had circled around him. My wife didn't shoot. We were packing the stuff back to the truck and a large buck came running out, heading east, I was standing 20 feet away from my wife, carrying our 2 guns. No time to get her set up so I shot. He is hanging in the shop. Biggest whitetail I've ever shot! Happy / sad part of it all is, the better half didn't shoot it, but I guess there's next year.
This is the first one I have to get scored!! I printed the score sheet off the Boone and Crocket web site and measured 138 5/8 before deductions, 134 1/8th after.
We are done for this year!! Yippy!! Butchering time.
Now I will push bush for friends!
