Savage 223 20" 1/9 with factory ammo?

I've got a Savage in .223 with a 20" barrel and 1/9 twist coming to me and I'm not setup for loading rifle calibers yet. Can you recommend a couple types of factory ammo that might be my best bet for accuracy? The easier they are to find, the better.

Try the cheap Winchester whitebox. It shot pretty good in mine. I had only ever tried that and the black box Win Supreme and they were 2x the price and shot no better.

That was Jerry's suggestion too. I've already got some 55gr and I'm keeping my eyes open for some 40gr too.

federal premium 69gr SMK BTHP for longer ranges. Also any of the hornady 55gr V-max bullets. My SPS TAC 1-9 twist with 20 inch barrel also loved the hornady tap ammo( A little harder to find though)

the federal 69gr shot really good out of mine at long range.

If it's a real tack driver try 77 gr Federal Gold Match. Expensive, but well worth bragging about!
