SX3 blew up

Mythbusters did the 20 gauge down the barrel and then fire a 12 gauge and nothing blew up. They also plugged a barrel full of mud and nothing blew up.
What make and model of gun did they use? It might be that a Mossberg with a thick, sewer pipe barrel would survive a 12/20 burst or a blocked muzzle. The same can't necessarily be said for a thinner, contoured barrel such as would be on a light sxs.

The only thing Mythbusters proved was that it didn't happen in the specific gun they used. That cannot then be applied to every gun out there.

What is different in the bolt of an SX3 as compared to a Benelli? A Benelli you can not fire out of Battery.

For 3.5" black cloud, I have no idea of his source as he lives 1.5hr away from me and shop at different places. My guess would be "the gun room" in waterloo, however, don't quote me on it.

My gun doesn't even shoot 3.5s. However, I have seen him wack some geese in the 45 yard range stone dead.

I'm a pussy, I rather shoot woodies with my 20.

they used a 870. Broke my heart to see that vent rib peal of the barrel. It didn't blow up. It blew the choke tube out and bulged the end a little. that sx3 how full of mud and dirt was it. He outfits 6 days a week its gonna get real dirty. And he might use only 12g but that dosn't mean his customers do. just a thought.

Wrong ammo is definitely not the issue.

1) He keeps his shell in his own layout blind, shell belts.
2) The problem shell was pried out of the barrel at the gun shop and was confirmed that round as indeed a factory round, and not an incorrect gauge.

OK..... but after the gun malfunctioned with the first shot ...did he check the BBL for obstructions before he chambered another round???? that is the question...i am thinking that he did not....'nuff said.......

Why do you think barrel obstruction being the problem?

My buddy had a 3" shell one time that blew out the side of the brass and the bolt came out in pieces through the ejection port. This was a Winchester high brass shell and an 870. Maybe the second round broke apart in the chamber as he fired it, leaving the piece in the barrel they had to pry out...

There was a tread about a Baikal mp 153 on here a while back gun would fire bolt would stay blown open and had to be manually closed only happened with the same shells Black cloud I have never tried them but would suspect that they maybe creating more pressure than normal just a guess The Baikal is a tank and may have been able to handle the extra pressure .I have seen a few posts now about problems and have seen Black clouds mentioned maybe worht looking into.
