ok i eliminated the factory rear dust cover and made a new one incorporating the pic rail. the rear of the rail has 10g to give support. at the moment there is just a bolt holding the the rear of the cover down this will be changed to a quick type atachment that will still maintain zero. obviously i used this opprotunity to move the bolt handle to the left side. which will help to make mag changes faster

the rifle has no ejection issues. the emty shells do not have as much velocity as they used to, and they make a nice pile about 7ft away now

the rifle itself needs no modifications whatsoever and can be returned to the factory setup at any time

i do not have the facilities to mass produce and one offing these would cost a few bucks. i am not a dealer so i dont think i can even say that i would sell em even if i did

if i do anything at all i will try to sell some to a registered cgn dealer...

the factory dust cover is riveted to a block that holds the striker spring and recoil spring i jusr emoved the cover it works just fine without it on there

You should redo the front handguard on top over the gas piston to match the same height.. That would look awesome...

So if I understand correct (dont have my rifle in front of me to check) you took the block out, and the block is now attached to your new custom cover?

I'm glad to see other guys trying to fab up stuff for this rifle. It's a great platform to be creative with and very forgiving with modifications.

I think that if you used a thinner rail (0.31") it'd bring your base down a lot closer to a comfortable position. I also agree that bringing a forward rail over the handguard level with the rear would give the gun a better "line". Then you could just go with a nice BUIS flip-up sight set.

Good start, keep it up.

i agree on the thinner rail it is a little high for a nice cheekweld. to remedy this i will just put a cheek riser on the buttstock, if i do a 2nd revision i will definetly use a shorter rail
