Thinking about picking up a Norinco NP-58 (Sig knock off). For those that have them, how do you like them? How are the preformance wise (I know there not going to be real tack-drivers)? Reliable?

Thinking of the .40 S&W.

Np-58 is only in .40cal

The Np-22 which is also a clone of the 226 is in 9mm

The NP-34 is a clone of the 228 and is in 9mm

All of them now have rails and the locking inserts have the wings to act as rails solving the main issue these guns had. I plan on getting a NP-58 and NP-34 when they come in.

Got one recently and it is still unfired, by me. But I've tumbled my free range pick-up brass, the dies have arrived and my buddy has cast several hundred 175 grain heads for me, so should be good to go if I can find time to sit at the reloading bench.

But had a chance to try someone's NP58 at the range. No issues except the rear sight needed a little drifting to the left to bring point-of-impact to point-of-aim.

if you haven't yet, check out this link to a previous thread:

fyi, these NP58's are exported to Germany which should tell us something about their quality and value....competing against the original in its own territory.

I have the 228 9mm and the 226 40 cal clones. Both are quite accurate and totaly reliable.

The 40 cal requires that no bore diameter of the bullet is forward of the case mouth, wheras on all my other 40s the bullet can be seated out a bit further.

Also have the real Sig in 40. It is nicer finished but my norc has a better trigger.
