Blaze Orange question

I went hunting for the first time in Manitoba, and the rules and culture seemed quite clear: blaze orange, head and torso.

Thing is, I've seen a lot of Alberta hunters who wear full camo.

What are the laws relating to blaze orange from province to province?

Are we in Alberta just cowboys?

That's Manitoba as well, a minimum 400 square inches above the waist, blaze hat with a logo not covering more than 12 square inches.
 
Alberta got rid of that requirement about 15 years ago if i remember correctly. just about the time my red shell was falling apart :} Now you can wear whatever you want (or not.)
 
Saskatchewan big game hunting during rifle season requires high-visibility colours (blaze orange, red, or white) for hat and shirt/jacket (including sleeves - just a vest in hi-vis won't do.) It used to be required for the lower body, too, but when the Sask. Party replaced the NDP government they eased up.

For archery and muzzleloader season you can go camo, but during rifle season muzzleloader and bowhunters have to wear hi-vis too.

BC has no orange requirement. We are usually too busy trying to count points on animals to worry about dressing ourselves properly anyways.
 
Having grown up in Manitoba, a Blaze orange jacket and Hat during required seasons is second nature for me. When I lived in Alberta for 3 years I enjoyed the fact that I wasn't required to wear it, but I always wore a Blaze orange hat anyway during rifle season. It just made me feel a little more visible.
