I was just looking throuhg the search bar and can't seem to find the dealer here who was selling the short barrelled version made for canada. Anyone remember who that was? I want the 4.2 inch barrel

Can't anyone order them? I thought they were regular item from Ruger from now on.

Short answer = YES.

Longer answer = Back ordered like crazy; apparently they are hot sellers in the USA as well.

The Shooting Edge, P&D and Wild West all have a few in stock.

I handled one, they're pretty cool! was thinking of getting one but ended up with a CZ 75 instead...maybe next it will be my next gun :)

I don't mean to be a nit picker, but the 4.2 inch barrel is actually made for the much more lucrative California market and maybe a few other states, I'm not sure. But all I can say is "THANK YOU CALIFORNIA" and hopefully other manufacturers will follow suite.
Oh, actually I do mean to be a nit picker and I'm off to find some more nits.

Time to eat a little crow:
When I stated in my prior comment that "the 4.2 inch barrel is actually made for the much more lucrative California market" I was talking out of my ass, or should I say through my ass - he's a good friend and interpreter of mine. After I shot my mouth off, I started thinking (I can assure you that doesn't happen very often) and decided to look into California's Gun Regulations. Well it didn't take long to realize things weren't adding up. After an hour or so of hunting around the net without getting a definitive answer one way or another, I fired off an email to Mr. Mike Fifer, Rugers CEO, (unbelievably you can do this through Ruger's Website) and he has replied, rather promptly I might add, that the change to a 4.2 inch barrel was done strictly for the Canadian market. So TMIB, I apologize, you were right and I was wrong. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a crow in the oven that I must tend to and I noticed an extremely large nit earlier as I past by a mirror and I have the urge to go pick on it ;)

I have one of each :)

Nice... I am fighting the temptation to buy right now... so difficult.

BTW, does anyone know if the Redhawk grip is shorter than the GP100 grip? It looks it from pictures.

I'm waiting for a batch of 4.2" Redhawks to arrive as I've always wanted a .44Magnum (probably new year).

I respect guys who own up to mistakes! You will go far!

I myself am surprised that Ruger would make a revolver specifically for the Canadian market.

Good on them though... I think they will be the hot sellers for next little while... Canada has had a decade and then some of mostly 6" (or longer) DA revolvers to choose from in .357Mag/.44Mag.

Wow~ 4.2" :D Woot!!
