What's this gun worth?

Hey Guys,

I'm going to be posting this on the EE for a friend; he was on the way home from hunting today and his new yellow lab pup jumped of the back of his truck and broke her hind leg just below the hip... He now needs some $$$ for the incoming $1500+ vet bill.

The gun is a Traditions Field II by Fausti of Italy 28" barrel with 3" chambers, single trigger w/barrel selector, and 4 chokes.

It has only seen a few boxes of target loads and is in VG+++ condition.

Anyway any input on a fair price would be appreciated.

I've been in pretty much the same boat before and had to put my dog down because I couldn't afford it; what an awful thing to have to do to a loyal friend... I figure the least I can do is try and sell his gun for him...

If you google it you'll find that Cabela's is offering quite a selection of Fausti's. A Traditions in .410 is going for around $700.00. Their priciest one is offered at $125,000.00, but you might get a deal on 2 or more. Looks like an average price for everything else is between $3,000.00 and $4,000.00. I didn't see a Field ll though.

I googled it also but only found a couple recent Gunbroker auctions for ~$700-1000. Nothing north of the border...

The gun was bought for around $1500 from SIR several years ago... I just want to make sure I post it for a fair price for him and one that will move it pretty quick.

No; different gun...

I told him what the gun is worth and I think he's just gonna keep it. I think his MasterCard is gonna have to take the brunt of it.

Current Blue book says $775.oo US for 98%.
Would have been a lot cheaper to put the dog in the truck.

We had to take one of our Shar Pei's there for leg surgery a couple of years ago. Afterwards we were given one of those plastic neck cones, but not for the dog. It was for me so I wouldn't chew at my wrists after seeing the ####ing bill !!
