r5 mil spec 308

That's odd. Most of them are very close to 2.80. It's one of the reasons these rifles are well known for being able to shoot so well with off the shelf match factory ammo. Or at least that's what I thought.

168 Federal Match 5 rounds 100 yards very light wind. Also shot in a very dry climate.

Lets just say I have no interest in a custom .308 now. ;)

Shoots sub .5 moa at 200 yards (less than an inch) as well.
That's irritating... I hope I can get my XCR to shoot like that  I'm hoping it's me and not the rifle, which is also irritating :)

Apparently you should let Epoxy take it out for a spin to find out. He can shoot pretty darned good. :)

Terrific to see you have such a fine shooting iron on your hands, E.

I shoot groups of 5, but that being said if the rifle will put 3 in the same hole consistently it'll put 5 in as well. Fliers are generally the conditions, the ammo and or the shooter, not the rifle. That 4th shot flier is generally what happens when you've shot 3 and then look at the target :p

One can use whatever measure they want. Ultimately it is their gun, but monitoring only small round count groups, and labeling everything else a flier can be misleading.

There is a pretty good thread about it here:

 Thanks.

I'm very happy with this rifle combination.

On a side note, anyone have any recommendations for a front shooting bag? I used some at the range which were fantastic until some jerk stole them. The Caldwell one I have is so so.

I've had good results with 167 Lapua Match bullets with Varget powder.

If you don't mind me asking, what recipe are you using, I have a couple hundred Lapua 167 scenars and a few pounds of Varget sitting on the shelf that I would like to use up in my 5R.

Also, does anybody have a favorite load for the 5R with 155 SMK Palma's and Varget or H4350, H380, IMR 4350, IMR 4831, RL10, 15, 22, or any other powder you use.
