Which would you pick? On paper they almost have the same ballistics, a buddy wants to trade a very good 99 for my 94. I reload and I'm having a hard time finding brass for my 307. No problem finding 300sav brass

I have both 94s and 99s. By far take the 99, I just find it to be a superior gun.

And while the .307 is a neat caliber, it's much cheaper to shoot a .300 savage.

Not even close...the Savage is a better rifle and the .300 Savage is the better cartridge.

what is a 307?

This is my .307
There are many like it but this one is mine!!!:D

Opinions vary but I do like my .307. I'm not saying it's any better or worse that the .300 Savage. I just like it.

Very nice rifle dorm, and very well said! I too, have a 94 307, and mine is all mine! I also have a 99 in 300 Savage. I do like the 300 cal, but I do favour the 94 rifles over the 99's, just cuz I do.

i had a 300sav awhile back and one thing that i hated about the 99 is where the safety is, on the lever, and i hated the curve lever. i guess i just answered my own question. i will keep my 307 and start hunting hard for brass.

Well lets break it down, the .307 has a much longer neck, and more prominent rim for extraction, it has more powder capacity, so from a reloading standpoint it is a better, slightly more powerful round.....So it comes down to which rifle you like best, I don't care for the Savage 99, so I'll take the '94 and the .307!!
As an aside, the .300 Savage cannot be reloaded with cast bullets without the gas check being seated below the neck, not a prob. with the .307, and makes the .300 Savage a non-starter for me!
