IPSC Ont Board Elections

This constant back stabbing and hearsay is going to be the end of us unless we all smarten the f**k up...and fast.

I'm suddenly reminded why I decided not to run again.
I fixed the spelling, eh?

Ever was it so and we are here still. Although, it is enervating to read and hear this crap. It is no wonder so few choose to get involved by either running or voting for that matter.

You missed one.

Apparently I don’t know how to spell "President"...how ironic

Just a point of interest, I was recently at the RA Centre and heard from a quite a number of members of IPSC Ontario that they had also recieved soliciting emails, non of which have even met you muchless have ever contacted you, myself included, just wondering where you may have obtained those emails?? :p

Just curious Curt (let's call it a point of interest)...

I was at the RA center on the day in question (Nov 28th at the IPSC match) and you were not there

I was involved in the conversation on the topic at hand (by three IPSC Members...I guess that could qualify as "quite a number'...or at least "a number")...and you were no where to be seen

Maybe you were hiding under the table ;)

Since that's the same day the email came out...and our time warp machine is on the fritz...and there have been no IPSC related activities since...I'm confused.:confused::confused:

I'll apologize in advance if I just didn't see you...but I definitely didn't see you...

I have faith ;)

Besides...I didn't ask any questions.

Indeed. That kinda makes your post even bigger waste of time. :D

Anyways, I guess the main concern was that if one of the current board members did send emails to addresses collected as part of the work done as a board member, then perhaps other candidates should have an opportunity to send similar emails. What would be fair...

It was looked into and verified...it was a personal email folder...not related to any activities related to the Board (emails collected as a result of meeting people at matches, Facebook, Club practice nites...etc)

You can paint this any colour you want...it's still cheap politics

IPSC Ontario/Canaa really needs it own forum, would end this useless drivel that pervades CGN needlessly. Not really good optics constantly seeing crap that the public has no need to see.

IMHO

Agreed...

I see no issues with members campaigning on behalf of the candidates that they support (a positive approach) In fact I would encourage it.

Unfortunately some prefer to simply sling mud (a negative approach)

Regardless...you can't stop the flow of information...

To play Devil's Advocate....

Part of the game of politics is networking and contacts. They are as important as your reputation. It's not simply enough to be known to be a good person anymore. You need to be able to reach out to those who you've dealt with in the past, and put a bug in thier ear around election time.

If you haven't got the contacts, it's because you haven't been in contact.

Frankly I find it refreshing to see we actually have an election, instead of an acclaimation.

I wonder how much of the crap would be mutted if such a forum was member only and required real names. It's all well and good to strut and crow when you can hide behind a pseudonom, now say what you feel with your real name and region.........

And yes, I would welcome a GV type forum for IPSC Ont.

I have to agree with you!

But...I kind of like my pseudonym. I think it's quite stealthy!

FYI - there's not one person in this thread that I don't know the real name of; I'm sure many others are in the same boat.
If there's an implied anonimity, it's a false one.
