Glock 22 or Glock 35 Conundrum

Well Guys I need some advice, there's room in the safe for a new Glock. I love my G29 and would like to get a .40 for target and speed steel. Does anyone out there have a G35? If so how do you like it?
I'm tempted to just go with the proven G22 and the all kinds of trigger stuff available, as the trigger job I did on my 29 turned out sooo sweet. But the longer slide adds an extended line of sight as well as the factory 4.5# on the 35 tho not as crisp as my 29 may give me some advantage for when I try speed steel.
So basically I'm trying to decide is it worth the extra three hundred for the
G35 or should I spend the extra cash doin up a G22.
What say CGN ers
 
I'm sure TDC will chime in any second about how the length of the sight is irrelevant. maybe it is, maybe it isn't, I know I have seen youtube vids of a guy hitting a gong at 230 yards with a sub-compact glock though. But I've also seen guys with an extended slide not hit anything.

For me, I haven't tried the G34 or G35, but I can't see any need to right this moment. It is quite a bit more expensive, and the extended controls can be added to a G22 for much less than $300
 
35 all the way

I have a 35 and have also shot a 22 extensively. I much prefere the 35. Less muzzle flip, longer sighting radius. Hard to describe but it just feels nice in my hands.

But it depends what you want it for. I shoot IPSC primarily. You cannot use the 35 for production but you can use the 22. I find the 35 to have an advantage over the 22 in standard division.

I shoot a 17 for production and like it as well.

Use the 35 with a 9mm conversion barrel to shoot steel and just love it. Fast!!
 
Glock 35: Why not own the best?

Sevigny is now a 9-time USPSA National champion having won the most overall Production and Limited-10 division titles with five and three respectively, and one in Limited division. Sevigny is also the only person in USPSA to finish each Production and Limited-10 Nationals competed in at 95% or better.

Sevigny uses a GLOCK 35 to win over other Grand Masters with $3000 guns in Limited -10.

Order a set of Warren-Sevigny sights from Brownells and you will own the same gun as the world champion, the GLOCK 35.:)
 
As lpel said, it all depends on what you want to do with the gun. If you want to shoot IPSC Production, forget the 35. If you want to shoot IPSC Standard and/or SSP or ESP in IDPA, the 35 is a good choice. If you reload, the 22 is fine to download and shoot in IPSC Production as well as SSP in IDPA.

I have had a 22 and I have a 35 now. I find the longer Glocks balance far better for me as well as the longer sight radius and slightly greater control in recoil.
 
The real question is, can you dress up the G22 to the level of the G35 with the cash you'd save? I think for you its more of a financial question.

I've made my decision. The G35 it is. Since I have a bunch of 9mm loading materials I'm gonna try and score a 9mm bbl and some mags for it as well. The more I've read about the G35 the more I like it, plus it felt really good in my hand. So with luck by this time Saturday I should be the happy owner of a brand new Glock again. Of course I'll have to run back out to the range next week end to try it out.

IIRC, the 40 mags can feed 9mm reliably....but I can't quite remember for sure.

All the standard frame full sized Glocks have the same grip.:rolleyes:

I just bought the last one Reliable had at their big sale. Only a 10% discount but $90 is better than a kick in the but. Only $110 more than the stock G22.
I can hardly wait to put some lead down the pipe.

I just bought a .40cal barrel for my G29 so I can shoot the cheaper .40 stuff for IPSC, and then just use the original 10mm barrel when I'm just hitting the range for fun with friends.
