BC hunters betrayed by government

can somebody more computer savy link or post an article in the Kelowna news under this title. seems resident hunters in BC are getting shortchanged on LEH tags. Up to 70 percent in some regions going to guide/outfitters for non resident hunters. I thought this should be of consern to all BC resident hunters. Thanks
 
That does suck for resident hunters of BC, however, with the American dollar being as low as it is outfitters need more Americans hunters to make up for the lack of profit they once had. But 70-30 is a bit of a :kickInTheNuts: for residents.
 
I have been hearing that there is a very vocal group of financial secure people/hunters that are promoting this.

I know one of them and am continually amazed at the drivel that comes out of his mouth on how all hunting should be done with a guide/outfitter only even for residents.
 
The Guide Outfitters are well heeled and highly effective lobbyists. If they had their way they would get first dibs over natives and the rest of us second rate citizens.
 
a guy at the range told me to talk with my BC mp because the outfitters are trying to stop all hunting in bc except for them (he might have been exagerating)... i shrugged it off seemed like BS to me, maybe it had some truth to it.

x2 i mean its your province right??? So i thought the gov't was working for it's population not for others... Why would outfitters care about folks in BC im pretty sure residents aren't their main income... as long as they're making money and they can hunt on their huge disproportional land they don't give a s*** about residents
 
It figures...the best hunting in Canada and the outfitters want to shear the sheep, so to speak. How many resident hunters do you think would hunt with an outfitter? My guess is they'd get pissed off and head to Alberta to hunt with a hunter-host.

GOABC would be quite happy if seasons were changed to promote only trophy class animals, and LEH for all resident hunting. The guy at the range wasn't far off the truth:D
