Where does it say you have to shoot 2 matches a year to maintain your black badge ?????

There is no such rule in Ontario. We reserve the right to assess or re certify if the need arises...but know one will be knocking on your door if you don;t have a match on record in a particular year...

Yes he is sure...

We would prefer you shoot your qualifier (it's a one time thing) within a year...but there is no policy regarding a minimum number of matches per year.

Yup, I know of at least a couple who I haven't seen shoot in 15 years still show up on the classification sheets, and a few that have shot more recently that had to requalify because they didn't pay.

in BC, you need to shoot 1 sanctioned match (Qualifier, or level II in another province) to maintain your certification.

should you go 2 years without shooting a sanctioned match and subsequently lose your certification, you need to retake the open book test part of the Black Badge course, and shoot a Level I match with an instructor. You don't need to retake the entire course again.

In BC, you need to be inactive for 4 years before you need to retake your BB course.

no...it's not a bad idea...but with 1100 members and a few hundred (give or take) sanctioned matches per year tracking that is something we would have to automate. Until we have an epidemic of IPSC zombies coming back to life and shooting out the lights ...it's not high on the agenda.

That's not to say the idea doesn't have some merit...it's just not a issue for us at present time
