I'm looking to get my 600 set up with a scope for some rimfire metal silhouette shooting and general plinking. My 600 is one of the earlier ones without the dovetails. It's got the holes drilled along the side of the receiver at the "10:30 o'clock" 45 degree angle.
I'm thinking of making my own mount but before I do I'd like to see what the original factory mounts for these looked like. The issue is complicated by the fact that the empties are ejected straight up so to get the scope to mount over the bore I'll need an angled deflector area in the mount. Pictures of your setups will help a lot.
The other option is to just go with the flow and buy the Weaver #2 side mount, platform and rings. But this seems sort of a kludgey and Mecano set sort of solution with all the bits and screws. Pictures of these setups would also be appreciated along with your thoughts on how it's been working for you. With this Weaver setup does the scope sit over the bore or is it offset to the side?
