22lr question

depends on barrel length and the shooter. i sight in at 2"high at 50 yards and hit good at 100. never shot target as close as 20 yards. using a 24 inch barreled marlin 81.

I'd say you want to be 6 inches high at 20 to be close at 100, FS

6 inches would be way too much as the bullet is still coming up and would be near the line of sight.

Dead on at about 12 yards puts you on again at around 75. Someone with a ballistics calculator will hopefully chime in with better specifics.

someone at my range wasn't sure, but thinks at 20yrds I should be at or around 100yrds. But he said he he wasn't totally sure on that.. Can anyone else confirm

Your in the ballpark, and that's about as close as we can be given the information given. The height of the scope will make a differnce. The higher the scope, the higher the bullet will be downrange, given that 20 yards zero is the first crossover.

There is a pretty good drop with a 22 when you go from 50 yards to 100, I'll try it out Friday if the wind isn't too bad. FS

Read the sticky "Rimfire Ballistic charts"

4th graph down tells all. Just figure out the MOA drop and adjust scope to match
