Red Dot range...

I was thinking of purchasing a Red Dot scope for my SKS. I am thinking something standard, nothing professional. I would like to know up to what range will the Red Dot be accurate?

I had the exact same mount and dot on my SKS.

100M is about right as the dot gets very large past that.

Also, this places the dot higher than I liked and no more stripper clips (as the tube blocked the loading gate).

About 100m for the large dots on the cheaper units sound about right. 300m is easy with an EO or Aimpoint.

You could do deer out to 150, unless something is wrong with the ammo and/or optics. Shoot some paper at 150 and see how it goes.

Example:
If your red dot has a 5 MOA dot, it'll be covering 5" @ 100 Yards.
Keep that in mind.

Accurately? for me 100M, wouldn't be confident of a kill zone shot on a yote much beyound that. Limited by eyesight. Using 2moa Comp M4
