Hi guys, been googleing for a while to find my answer but no dice.

Got to the range today with my first 30 reloads, 7.62x54r in a MN 1891/30.

Noticed that maybe there was a bit more smoke coming from the barrel after shooting a round, tryed 3 loads, 40.4, 40.9, 41.4 IMR 3031, with 1x brass, Winchester primers and 150gr speers. Temp was -24ish. All rounds shot well no sign of too much pressure, but before i go smash some more together I wanted to see if that extra barrel smoke meant anything.

Was also wondering what effect outside temps have on pressure, i read somewhere that lower temps will increase pressure, like today, your thoughts?

With very few exceptions, lower temps DECREASE pressure. A load you work up in sub-zero temps, could cause BIG problems come 35C in summer time, if it's max or over anyway.

-24 and you had extra smoke n the barrel? you probably had extra smoke coming out of your mouth and nose when you were breathing too right? dont worry about it.
